Biography
Truitt joined the litigation team at Stibbs & Co. through the firm’s law school clerkship program, becoming the first graduate of the initiative. Since then, he has worked side by side with firm attorneys and clients to deliver high-quality, results-driven legal solutions. Truitt supports the litigation team in a variety of business and commercial disputes, drawing on his experience across multiple industries and his business-focused education. Even before becoming licensed, Truitt was an integral part of the Stibbs & Co. team, helping secure favorable outcomes for clients, including a final judgment awarding more than $1.4 million.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where he focused on practical coursework in client counseling, advocacy, and dispute resolution. Truitt also served as a Notes & Comments Editor for the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal, contributing to scholarship at the intersection of law and commerce. A proud double-Coog, he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing from the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.
Outside of the office, Truitt enjoys exploring new trails on his bike and sailing on Lake Conroe and the Gulf. One of his greatest passions is experimenting in the kitchen with new flavors and cuisines—a culinary curiosity rivaled only by the firm’s legendary “barbecue nerd,” Stuart Lapp.
